ICT Annual Symposium - "Navigating the Technology Network".
4th June 2003

The 29th Annual Symposium of the Institute of Circuit Technology (ICT) took place on the 4 June 2003 at the Lea Marston Hotel, Warwickshire.

Chaired by Pete Starkey, deputising for ICT Chairman Chris Wall, the day included presentations from:

  • Martin Goosey, Shipley Europe Ltd
  • David Hutt, Loughborough University
  • Tony Ridler, Shipley Europe Ltd
  • Steve Jones, Invotec Group Ltd

The presentations were followed by the David Kennedy Memorial Award which was presented to Kate Geraghty, Shipley Europe Ltd, by Mrs Val Kennedy.

Kate has worked on the 25 litre drum recycling project, which was successfully completed at the end of 2002. The drums are used to supply process chemistry in the PCB and metal finishing industries. The report demonstrated that end-of-life drums can now be recycled into new products rather than sent to landfill.

Iain Boath, Invotec Group Ltd, was the runner-up. Iain was given the task of driving the necessary changes in order to achieve ISO 14001 recognition at all three manufacturing sites. This has led to additional benefits within Invotec's facilities.

Delegates were also given the opportunity of a plant tour of Invotec Group's Tamworth facility.
